I often wonder what life will be like for my autistic niece in the workplace. Getting through school has been challenge enough. I stumbled across this CIPD document which is so useful for HR Professionals who want to learn more about neurodiversity, the benefits for their organisation, and how they can support neurodivergent people to be comfortable and successful at work. The guide aims: first, to raise awareness of neurodiversity in the workplace among employers; and second, to inspire more employers to action. There are practical examples from organisations already appreciating the benefits of a neurodiverse workforce and actively supporting their staff. It’s clear that adjustments made to enable neurodivergent individuals to thrive at work frequently benefit everyone. This guide provides the starting point for both greater awareness and action. I hope this guide spurs on action from employers to create more inclusive workplaces where neurodivergent individuals can thrive.
